Make Appalachia your next mission trip destination

One week. Lasting Change.

Christian Appalachian Project's home repair programs are often overwhelmed. Substandard housing is a persistent challenge in parts of Eastern Kentucky, and we have lengthy waiting lists of homeowners needing new windows, roofs, flooring, siding, insulation, and other repairs to help make their homes warm, safe, and dry. With the help of mission groups from across the country, we are able to help more families more quickly.

Mission Teams make a lasting impact on families in need

The CAP Volunteer Groups program welcomes family, church, business, school, and civic groups of two or more May-November. Your group will arrive on Sunday afternoon or evening, serve alongside CAP employees and volunteers Monday-Thursday, and depart Friday morning.  Whenever possible, you will have the opportunity to meet the homeowners, as relationship-building is a critical part of our ministry. In the evenings, you will gather as group for a period of devotion and reflection on the day's service.

Housing is provided in one of our dedicated group housing facilities, and CAP staff will be on hand throughout your stay to orient you to the area, provide all meals, and answer any questions you may have. All tools and project materials are provided, and your group will be led by a skilled crew leader. The participation fee is $400/person.

In addition to our regular groups program, we also have college and high school alternative spring break programs in March and April. Although our primary need is in home repair, there may opportunities to serve in other ways, or for a shorter duration of time. Just contact us with your questions and we'll do our best to meet your needs.

We are passionate about serving God through serving people in need in Appalachia, and we hope you will join our mission. Please contact us at groups@chrisapp.org or 606-285-0961 to learn more or reserve your week.
