Ichthus Food Drive: One Can Helps Fight Hunger

Got one can of food? Then you can help fight hunger in eastern Kentucky.

Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), a proud ministry partner of Ichthus 2011, will be collecting canned food all weekend long to benefit CAP’s Grateful Bread Food Pantry in Mt. Vernon, Ky.

We’re asking everyone to bring just one can of food to help fight hunger in  Appalachia.

Christian Appalachian Project’s Food Pantry serves more than 2,000 people each month in Rockcastle County–where 25% of the population lives in poverty. Our pantry serves more than 50% of Rockcastle residents living in poverty.

You CAN make a difference. Bring one can of food to Christian Appalachian Project’s collection stations and help us make a mountain of food for people in need. And the first 200 people who donate a can of food will receive a CAP t-shirt!

I would love to donate to the canned drive but live in Texas. Any suggestions?

Hi Sherry–you could always send food directly to the pantry: 495 Williams Street, Mt. Vernon, KY 40456. Since the postage would probably be very expensive for that, it might be better to simply make a financial gift. You can find information on how to give by clicking on the “Give Now” button under the Quick Links. Thank you for your support!
