Stay involved
Leaving full-time service does not mean your involvement with CAP has to end. CAP needs Volunteer Alumni to stay actively involved to make CAP and the communities we serve stronger.
Volunteer Opportunities
Disaster Relief
CAP’s Disaster Relief team is growing! Add your name to the list by contacting disasterrelief@chrisapp.org. Placing your name on the list puts you under no obligation, but we will email you when we’re forming a response team.
Interested in coming back to Kentucky to volunteer? Check out our current long-term and short-term needsĀ or contact Kathy at kkluesener@chrisapp.org.
At home projects
Want to help CAP from home? We have a variety of at home mission projects, including sponsoring a family at Christmas or collecting items for our food pantry. These are great projects to introduce CAP to your children.
Bring a group
Come back for a week with your church, workplace, or family (14 and older). We take groups May-November.
Help CAP recruit volunteers
Every year, we forgo many volunteer fairs because our travel budget is limited and some trips are just not cost-effective. Help stretch our travel budget by representing CAP at a fair. We can also send you materials for your church, school, workplace, etc. And don’t forget to talk about CAP with your friends, family, and co-workers. Word-of -mouth recruiting from alumni is a major source of CAP Volunteers. Sharing your experience can help Eastern Kentucky and lead to a life-changing experience for a future CAP Volunteer.
Shop for CAP
The Appalachian Home catalog sells fresh Christmas wreaths during the holiday season. All proceeds benefit CAP programs.
Give to CAP
You’ve already given CAP an incredible gift through your service. Have you ever thought of making an annual gift in support of today’s volunteers? Click here to give a gift of whatever level you feel comfortable.
