Individuals
For many of our volunteers, serving with Christian Appalachian Project is not really a choice–it’s a calling.
Long-term volunteers are the heart of our organization, but there are a variety of other time commitments available as well:
Long-term Volunteering
The heart of CAP, long-term volunteers dedicate 12 months of their time and talents serving in mission-critical positions.
Short-term Volunteering
Short-term volunteers serve a minimum of three weeks at CAP. These volunteers may be an extra pair of hands or serve in mission-critical functions during certain times of the year or in the absence of a long-term volunteer.
Summer Camp Volunteering
CAP offers two summer camp programs: Camp Andrew Jackson and Camp Shawnee. We are looking for energetic people who love children and can serve a minimum of two weeks as counselors, lifeguards, kitchen staff, arts & crafts instructors, office help and nurses.
Community Volunteering
Community volunteers are Kentucky residents who live in the areas surrounding CAP’s facilities and usually serve on a part-time basis.
Disaster Relief Volunteering
Disaster Relief volunteers are individuals from across the country that join CAP response teams in the event of a natural disaster in Appalachia. Potential volunteers are placed on a no-obligation on-call email list to be alerted when CAP is forming a response team.
