AmeriCorps Education Award
We do not currently have AmeriCorps Education Awards available.
Subject to availability and grant authorization each year, Christian Appalachian Project is at times able to offer AmeriCorps Education Awards through the Catholic Volunteer Network.
AmeriCorps Education Awards are given to those CAP volunteers who enroll in AmeriCorps and successfully complete a required term of service.
An Education Award can be used in the following ways:
- To repay qualified existing student (college) loans.
- To pay all or part of the cost of attending a qualified institution of higher education (including certain vocational programs).
- To pay expenses incurred while participating in an approved school-to-work program.
The types of Awards offered are:
| Term of Service | Service Hours | Period of Service | Education Award |
| Full-time (FT) | 1700 | 12 months | $5,350 |
| Part-time (PT) | 900 | 12 months | $2,675 |
| **Minimum time | 300 | 8 weeks | $1,132 |
** Minimum time awards are reserved for summer camp volunteers.
Volunteers enrolling in AmeriCorps are required to present a certified copy of their birth certificate or a valid passport. Volunteers can receive two AmeriCorps Education Awards in their lifetime.
