Human Resources

CAP employees and volunteers give blood at a drive sponsored by the Wellness initiative

For volunteers looking to serve Christian Appalachian Project in an indirect capacity, serving in Human Resources may be for you. In addition to our corps of more than 50 long-term volunteers, CAP has 160 full-time employees working in various administrative and direct human service positions throughout our Eastern Kentucky service area. Supporting that staff and managing a large nonprofit requires a dedicated Human Resources Department, including volunteers. Whether you have professional experience in Human Resources or are looking to learn more about the nonprofit sector and gain administrative experience, serving in HR may be for you.

Our Human Resources volunteer helps to coordinate the Wellness initiative of CAP’s Human Resources Department. The purpose of the Wellness program is to encourage CAP employees and volunteers to make small changes towards a healthier lifestyle. Responsibilities include creating interest and participation in the Wellness program, recruiting Wellness Team members, scheduling and leading Wellness Team meetings, and leading the Wellness Team in planning events, challenges, and activities. Depending on skills and experience, this volunteer may also take the lead in special projects for HR.

Now accepting applications for a long-term volunteer to begin in August/September.
