Independent Living

Independent livingLiving in a community setting may not be for everyone, and CAP provides an independent living alternative. Typically available to volunteers who are married or are 50 years of age and older, this option includes a modest food and living stipend and health insurance. Independent Living volunteers benefit CAP not only through their service, but also because they make space available in the volunteer houses so that we can welcome more volunteers and serve more people. Although they live outside of a volunteer community, Independent Living volunteers are still required to participate in community life by attending dinner and devotion at a volunteer house at least twice a month and attending retreats and other required activities. Please contact the Volunteer Program office for more information.
