Group Host
Now accepting applications for long-term volunteers.
Each March through November, CAP welcomes groups of various sizes–from a family of three to a youth group of 30. These family, college, high school and church groups serve for a week at a time in CAP’s Housing and Elderly Housing programs. We feed and house these volunteers in our group facilities, and we could not do it without the help of volunteer group hosts.
Group hosts, serving under the supervision of an employee Groups Coordinator, shop, meal plan and cook for groups. Group hosts may also help lead group orientations and will be the “face of CAP” to many volunteer groups. Typically, the host will be responsible for one group per week; during March and April, there will be several college and high school groups per week, and the hosts will lead a team of volunteer cooks. Evening and weekend shifts are the norm for group hosts.
These positions are ideal for volunteers who are interested in indirect service and love to cook and meet new people. During the off season and weeks when there are no groups, the host will have the opportunity to serve in other direct service programs.
