THE CHALLENGE:
Forty-six percent of families in our service area live in substandard housing. Faulty plumbing can result in unsafe food preparation … dangerous electrical wiring can result in more house fires … and inadequate insulation leaves seniors and children, in particular, vulnerable to illness.
THE SOLUTION:
Make quality, lasting repairs to houses to turn them into safe, warm, and dry homes. Right now, more than 500 families are on a waiting list.
THE GOAL:
Raise $4 million to complete repairs on more than 675 homes within the next three years, while also sharing valuable construction skills that can lead to increased job opportunities.
