Have you ever felt God calling you to do more? We have an urgent need for long-term volunteers in several areas, particularly in Housing and Child and Family Development. Substandard housing is a perisistent and devestating challenge in Central Appalachia, and our volunteers serve year-round providing warm, safe and dry housing for children and families that live in homes in various stages of disrepair.
Child and Family Development volunteers play a vital role in Appalachia's future--its children. CAP's preschools provide children the early education they need to start grade school on the right foot, and our community centers keep children and youth engaged in education and the arts throughout their school years. Our centers also take an active role in engaging parents to be positive role models for their children. Volunteers are urgently needed to staff our preschools and tutor grade school children.
If you have ever considered giving a year of service to people in need, now is the time. Answer God's call today.
