Take a Mission Trip in 2016

Submitted by CAP Volunteer on Wed, 11/18/2015

Every year CAP welcomes teams from churches, schools, businesses, and other groups to serve for one week in our Home Repair program. These Mission Teams serve during the months of March-October and are a vital part of our mission in tackling substandard housing here in Eastern Kentucky. Many of our participants face tremendous challenges due to the deteriorating condition of their homes. Leaking roofs, sagging floors, and broken or drafty windows and doors are common. Some are without running water, electricity or a reliable and safe heat source.

Serve a year in Appalachia

Submitted by CAP Volunteer on Mon, 10/20/2014

Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) is currently accepting applications for our August 2015 long-term volunteer orientation class. Long-term CAP Volunteers make a commitment of one year to Service, Community, and Spirituality. Volunteers tackle the issues of substandard housing, poverty, hunger, isolation, education, and more while living in an intentional, interdenominational and intergenerational community in which volunteers share in dinner and devotion four nights a week.
