My name is Alyssa McFadden, and I am serving as an AmeriCorps long term volunteer with CAP. What this means is I made a huge decision…to move away from my home in Philadelphia to the hills of Appalachia for an entire year! It was definitely not an easy one to make.

Christian Appalachian Project welcomes long-term (one year) volunteers in January, June, August, and October. Our preference is for volunteers to begin in August or January, but we also offer admission in October and June.

WorkFest (Alternative College Spring Break)

$200 registration fee, $225/person
Urgent Volunteer Needs: Construction and Cooking
In March and April, hundreds of college and high school students spend their spring break helping Christian Appalachian Project make homes warm, safe, dry, and accessible for low-income families, the elderly, and persons wth disabilities. Last year, more than 600 volunteers repaired more than 50 homes.
2017 Mission Group Season

Here at Christian Appalachian Project (CAP), we are looking forward to the 2017 Mission Group Season, which begins in May and continues through October. Mission Groups serve for one week in our Home Repair Programs and assist CAP in our goal of reducing substandard housing across our service area.

Summer camp and long-term volunteers needed
Are you called to the mountains? Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) has an urgent need for compassionate, mission-driven individuals to serve for three or more weeks at our summer camps. We are also seeking volunteers to serve for one year, beginning this August.
