CAP welcomes seven new long-term volunteers
Christian Appalachian Project Volunteer Program welcomed seven new long-term volunteer last week at a Commissioning service at Mountain Community Fellowship in Paintsville, Kentucky. The Commissioning service was preceded by orientation, where the new volunteers did everything from meeting CAP's President and CEO and spending time in quiet reflection to attending workshops on cooking for community and leading devotions.
Life After CAP
Spirituality: It's why we're here
As one of the three pillars of Christian Appalachian Project volunteer life, spirituality is just as important to the life of a CAP volunteer as service and community.

Remembering Steve Laudenslager
Steve Laudenslager (December 1, 1964-July 19, 2010)
Steve Laudenslager, a former CAP volunteer and employee, passed away in July after a sudden illness. He was 45.
Steve first came to CAP and the Jackson House as a long-term volunteer in 1998, serving in Housing and then later as a volunteer host for groups. He eventually became employed at CAP as a Volunteer Life Coordinator, overseeing volunteers in several houses.

We especially wish to congratulate the 14 and counting recent grads who have joined us or will be joining us as long-term volunteers this summer and fall. CAP partners with Ichthus
Continuing a tradition that began in 2007, CAP once again served as a community sponsor this month of Ichthus, a Christian music festival in Wilmore, Kentucky. CAP participated in the Global Village, a new exhibit that featured international and domestic nonprofits.
